I have had one of these Aerolatte whippers for years and I love it. It froths up milk in under a minute, rinses clean with hot water, and is very good on battery life. Warm milk whips best for lattes. For skim milk I have found a good trick is to heat it in the microwave for one minute, add sugar, THEN whip with the wand dead center in a tall glass to avoid spills.


Have been thinking about buying a cappucinno maker but don't need one now. This frother works great, having a cappuccino right now and it's perfect. I would definately reccommend buying one.....


I bought this frother 6 months ago and it worked great. It started slowing down, so I put new batteries in and the thing just died. Also, unless you froth in a deep glass, the milk will spill out. Also, unless this frother is set at just the right angle, the milk will splatter. I'm not buying this brand again.


Excellent device. We had purchased a combination Espresso/Cappuccino/Latte maker which included a steamer. Espresso part worked fine but steamer just would not create foam or even bubbly milk despite trying all kinds of things. Aerolatte works as advertised and produces good foam/froth on microwaved milk in about 20 seconds. Even if my steamer worked I think I'd still use the Aerolatte as it seems quicker, easier and safer than using the steamer.


This Aerolatte Frother looks like it would work just as well as any other Aerolatte product, but the exterior is mostly plastic instead of the brushed stainless steel that is available on the original Aerolatte. It doesn't have the durability or well-crafted feeling that we were looking for.


Who would have thought this would work so well? Well, someone did, and that person made the perfect milk frother. Love it!


Very glad I purchased aerolatte milk frother. I use it for my Chai Tea Latte and hot chocolate drinks. It works great. Recommend this product.


I have two Aerolattes, one is several years old, the other is brand new. The new one feels like cheap plastic, the switch is hard to operate and seems about to break, and it spins much more slowly than the original. A problem with ratings like these is that a manufacturer can get a good rating with a good product then downgrade the product and slide on the reviews. Maybe they make two models. If you can find the one that has a chromelike finish and the thinner beater wire it's a better product than the one with the plastic finish.

By the way, stovetop espresso makers do not make good espresso. They overheat the coffee and make it bitter. You can make terrific espresso on any cheap steam (non pump) espresso maker by cutting disks of coffee filter paper to fit in the bottom of the coffee basket. With that trick and a good burr grinder you can make espresso with a $42 Mr Coffee espresso maker that will rival the best pump machines. Note that It takes a lot of coffee to make good espresso. A basket 3/4 full will only make about two ounces of good espresso, the rest is bitter, but that is plenty for two cappuccinos.


Nice product, does what it claims. BUT, expected it to be a bit more powerful. It's just adequate.


After reading several good reviews, I purchased this item, however, I'd suggest finding a cheaper model elsewhere. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

I've tried cold and then heating half n half to several different temperature levels and get very little foam. Even tried adding water to the half n half thinking that might be the problem. I've only managed to get a decent froth on one occasion. It seems that this little tool slows down and then speeds up some reason. Just not consistent. It came with a fresh set of batteries though.

Hope you have better luck than I! Seriously, I'd go to IKEA as others have suggested for a cheaper model.

I have owned at least 5 Bodum frothers and given several as gifts. Even though I have a steam frother on my expresso machine, the Bodum frother requires less milk product, takes less time, and is easier to clean up. Unfortunately, the glass portion has always been made of very thin glass that is easily broken or cracked. Well...Bodum finally made one with thicker glass that I am hoping lasts longer. Sad to say, though, that the metal screen that creates the froth doesn't seem to create the nice, small frothy bubbles as well...


I owned a larger milk frother from Bodum, but the glass got broken and I couldn't find the same model in the US, but even though this one is small, it works great and froths the milk producing perfect cream.
I had own Nespresso frother, which I had to return it. It worked for 3 days! And also the Bialetti frother, which doesn't work as good as the Bodum.


Ok. I'm not really driven to spend time writing product reviews, but this frother has changed my coffee habit into a daily joyous occasion. Bottom line is this Bodum frother makes the best froth you could ever hope for. But there's a little bit of history.

I bought my first Bodum frother from a catalog. The top seal broke within a week rendering the frother unusable. I sent it back to the catalog company. Got a replacement, no problem. No hassle. Now it took an accident for me to blunder into the best way to make frother. Use 2% milk. Fill to line (or half way to line for one cup) and pump for 15 or 20 seconds while still cold. Then microwave for 30 seconds. Voila! Best froth ever. Better than all the cappuccino makers, electric frothers, pumps, hand held spinners, I've tried them all.

One last caveat. Don't get too attached to the glass beaker. I've broken three of them. They are very fragile and no doubt you too will break it after a few weeks or months of use. But not to fear. What you are paying for, and it is well worth the price, is the frother pump. Simply find a cheap mug that will fit the pump and you are good to go. While using it the office, I found out that one of those cheap, standard small-sized promotional mugs fits the frother and makes one perfect cup using the method above.

Your friends and family WILL be amazed. If everyone had one of these Bodum forther pumps Starbucks traffic would dwindle. For the price of the frother pump, I made the most amazing Mocha Latte with Carmel topping you could imagine. Beve Tutti!


If you are looking to make really full & creamy froth, this is it, look no further!

I have a BonJour Primo Latte Frother & Capresso 121.01 Ultima & Saeco Super Automatic one, nothing compares with this simple design. It's so easy to use, you wonder why can't these $500 machines can't make the same froth as this $20 manual gadget.

BonJour Primo Latte Frother - It's nice & easy to use, but the froth dissappears after a few minutes, and doesn't have as much volume or as smooth as this Bodum.

Espresso machines with steam, the problem is it's #1 - hard to clean / set up, #2 - it heats up the milk so it's never possible to have cold froth. And because it heats the milk to a boil, sometimes the milk boils before there's enough froth.

Resolution - Bodum Shin Bistro. This gadget is so easy to use, just pour milk, pump, and enjoy. cleaning is basically just run it thru water right after use, can't get any easier. If you let it sit there after use and the milk dries, then it might be more difficult to clean. As far as the glass being fragile, I've had no problems so far. It's glass, you can easily see it's glass, so use common sense and be reasonablly gentle with it and it'll be perfectly fine.



This product works great if you want a quick, inexpensive way to froth milk to add to coffee or even hot chocolate. I'd love to have a $$$ espresso machine with a steamer but I don't drink coffee so much that I can justify that expense. This is easy & cheap, no batteries to replace, and only takes about 30 seconds to use. I've tried heating the milk before and after frothihng (I use 1 or 2% lowfat milk). The milk seems to froth better cold; however, heating it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds often causes the frothed milk to bubble over. The glass jar is very thin and fragile and I actually just broke mine by knocking it over in the sink - no fault of the product, just me being careless. I found a beer glass of my husband's that fits the plunger perfectly, so I'm still good to go.


I've purchased two of these now (first one broke when dropped) and have been extremely pleased with the product produced. I have the most success by reversing the recommended procedure: pump first, then microwave.


This milk frother is a handy and easy way to make frothed milk for your lattes, mochas and caps. You can buy expensive machines, but why? A stove top espresso maker and the milk frother can get the job done for $35. The only downsides: the capacity is small -- only enough for one tall latte and I preferred the previous edition (unavailable anymore I guess) that was wider at the bottom and more stable.


Nifty frother! Bought one for my sister and one for me. Works super well.


Easy to use, easy to clean, works well frothing 2% milk. However, I don't
own a microwave; therefore, I heated my milk first in pan on stove, care-
fully trasferred into pre-warmed beaker and proceeded to froth. Method
was working beautifully until I noticed the plastic covering on the underneath center of the frothing wand had split. Apparently, this product is designed to be used in cold milk only. However, cost was minimal ($10.00) from a local food co-op. So, overall, you get your money's worth.


The first time I used this product I used a spoon to spoon out the froth and afterward placed the spoon in the glass (which was now room temperature) and it made a fine hole through the glass - the carafe is now useless.

I bought it 2 months ago and I did not use it. Today the plastic part of my Francis X8 machine got loose and leaky. I warmed the milk in a steel pitcher and used the Aerolatte. I coudn't belief the result. It made very thick foam in 10 seconds better than any Espresso machine. It took me seconds to rinse it. No more use of those steam wands in Espresso machines for me. You can use it to steam more than one cup. I'll still use my Francis but only for espresso.


I love my Soy Lattes and this little machine works great. I have found for Soy that you should warm the milk first and then whip. It can whip up a 1/4 cup of soymilk into over a cup of soy froth in just a few seconds. AMAZING

The tool itself won't hurt you if you touch it while on, although that is not recommended, so it should be safe for kids to use. Also, might recommend a set of rechargable batteries. The machine will slow considerably with weak batteries.


The item arrived bent. I did get a refund, but Amazon and the supplier refused to replace it, so the outcome was that I have to order it all over again. I have another model that works fairly well, but the foam seems to dissolve fairly quickly when it is spooned onto the coffee.


this was recommended to me by my sister. It works really well with skim and low fat milk.


I was skeptical that this little thing would do a good job so I also ordered another frother at the same time I ordered this one. The other one barely worked, but the Aerolatte To Go works really really well. It is quick and does a fantastic job as creating a fine froth that doesn't deflate and is indistinguishable from steamed froth. Clean up is very easy - wash it off and then spin it under its own power to spin off the water, stick it in the case which has some tiny holes in the bottom for air flow to prevent moisture from building up, and stick it in the drawer.


We got this about a month ago and love it! I use it to froth hot milk and flavoring to make "steamers". My roommate uses it to make a little frothed milk for his coffee. We both love it! I really didn't know what to expect, but it's great. The little case is very handy, too.


I was given my first aerolatte about 6 years ago - liked it so much i immediately bought another (e-bay) for use at the office. My Doctor does not allow me to have any coffee at all, but I needed a stirrer to mix my protein powder into my milk without making lumps. They both worked perfectly, lasting about 6 years, then inexplicably died! Both of them, within a month of each other!! I can't get along without them, so I ordered two new replacements through Amazon. They also work perfectly. So far it's 4 for 4 with no problems (I expect them to wear out eventually but it's great knowing i can quickly, conveniently cheaply replace them here) I found the batteries last longer and provide more power, and are rechargeable, if you use Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables - performance is better than alkalines, and WAY better than regular NiMH. Eneloops are available on Amazon at about $7 for a 6 AA pack. My only negative was a quick learning experience when I first got it: submerge the whisk, THEN turn it on! Failure to do so will spray-paint you, the counter-top, the walls, the kid, the cat, and anything else within about 12 feet. You only do that ONCE...


I use this product almost everyday. I like cream (flavored) with my coffee and it makes it frothy and just like an expensive latte. I save $3.00 everyday not going to starbucks! I make chai tea lattes also. Hot chocolate is great too.
