Typhoon Limousine Black Frother

Works OK as a mixer, which is why I bought it for my mom. It saves her having to hand mix in a powdered medicine that used to clump up on her. On occasions it will start and then stop or need some coaxing to get going, but it has been a blessing overall. Anyone buying this and expecting a $30 high quality item...is truly foolish. To read about their disappointment is actually humorous.


Please save your $$. My toothbrush has more power. I know it was only $5 and I needed $4 to get free shipping so it was really not a big deal... I will say that it mixed my daughter's chocolate milk great- but after 2-3 minutes hot chocolate was not thick or creamy.... Save your money and use a spoon to mix.


This product works excellent. It appears to be of "cheap" constructon, but I was expecting that due to the price


I have used several different frothers over the past few years, usually paying between $19 - $29 each for them. Of the battery-powered frothers I have owned, each provided excellent results with daily use for about a year until they finally gave out. Since I have had such good results with the frothers that I bought in the past, I naively assumed they were all the same, so why pay $19 when the Typhoon limousine is only $5? While the Limousine will eventually foam hot milk to an almost-acceptable level, it takes several minutes of meticulous nurturing to get it there. Better frothers will whip enough milk for two lattes in about 30 seconds. It is also obvious that the weak little Limousine is just waiting for an excuse to expire completely. I can't really complain because I feel as though I got what I paid for at $5.

So, I'm considering my Limousine purchase an inexpensive lesson learned and I'm buying a new frother. I've had the BonjourBonjour Café Latte Frother, Automatic Battery Powered in the past and was pleased with the quality and quickness of it's foam and it's longevity. Or perhaps I'll go "green" and get another canister-type frother like the "Roma" Milk / Cappuccino Frother (30 Fl. Oz/ 0.88 l). I've had one of these in the past and regretfully gave it to a friend who fell in love with it. It works super-fast (a couple of quick plunges on the knob and your milk is whipped to meringue-like consistency), is so solid that it will undoubtedly work for years and requires no batteries. The only downside is that it takes a good six ounces of milk to work properly, way too much for my usual single cappuccino. The little Bodum Shin Bistro Milk Frother By Bodum is almost as good as the Roma and operates on less milk, but cannot be used on the stovetop.

Ultimately, I've used, and liked almost every frother on the market. The only one I wouldn't buy again or recommend to a friend is the Typhoon Limousine.


Contrary to the other reviewer who seems to have had problems with this unit, I've bought 2 and been satisfied. Mind you, this is a $5 item, not meant to hold up to continuous use. I bought this mostly for the people in my family who can't run my commercial espresso machine. I have to admit I was skeptical but this item froths milk pretty darn good (not the microfoam of my prosumer machine but what do you want). Works very fast and is fun for kids also (hot cocoa).

It is cheap, but then..............it's cheap!

I don't believe the bad reviews.

The mechanism is the same in all of these type of frothers, and they are quite nifty, at any price. My coffee buddy recommend the $1 one she found at a local dime store and I grabbed the last one. We're trying to be recession-savvy and have been meeting at each other's more often, instead of at our favorite Stardux for the Cadillac priced lattes we do love!

My cheap frother even froths soy milk, either warmed or cold... it's a lot of fun and works quickly. I'd go with the cheapest one you can find and order a couple of good books to read while sipping your frugal gourmet beverage to get the free shipping!


awesome product!!! it only take 3 seconds, yes only 3 seconds to mix up my energy drink!!!!!!!!!!!! i use this product to mix my powdered energy dring in 8 ounces of water. what a teriffic product, can't live without it!!!!


This product came today. The workmanship is shoddy and the batteries barely fit into it. It has ceased to work after a single use. I have tried different batteries. a True waste of money


Got exactly what I need. We run a coffee house for the youth of our church and this froths the milk in no time.


I really like mine. I've had it for years and wanted to get one for a friend. I asked my friend in Germany to get me one. She researched it for me. The one in Europe was twenty Euros. Then she found one at Amazon.com. I liked the five dollar price much better.
