I bought this because my secret guilty addiction to Mexican hot chocolate was costing too much. This machine has already paid for itself. I use the latte whip with organic non-fat milk, melt some Ibarra chocolate and pour it in while the milk is frothing. Heaven!

I agree with all the five star reviews here. This machine is pure genius -- very simple to use, clean and operate. The other reviewers gave good advice about using the first three batches as a learning opportunity -- it gets better and easier to use after you try it a few times.

You can froth the milk at hot or cold temperatures, and of course, make whip cream. You can also add syrups for additional flavor. I plan to do some experimenting with this over the summer and create some non-fat toppings for fresh berries.

As for customer service, I too spoke to the owner's wife (which really isn't her title, I'm sure -- she's clearly 100% engaged and involved in all aspects of this business) and got great advice on which model to buy. She couldn't have been more helpful or nicer.

Long story short, if you are tired of the long lines, expense and hassle of getting your favorite cuppa, you can duplicate any drink that uses steamed milk. For the purists out there, yes, there is a difference between steamed and frothed milk. But for most of us, it's like the difference between the $100 bottle of wine and the $200 bottle of wine. Even if you can taste the difference, you wouldn't kick the $100 bottle of wine out of bed for eating crackers.

So far, so good. It's not the same as steamed milk; steaming seems to give it a little extra thickness. But it froths up nicely. We've experimented with the 2 paddle types, different milks (skim/1%/whole), & different amounts. Perfect latte foam seems to come with whole milk & frothing at least 3 cups at a time.


Not worth the money!! Does not make the amount of froth as advertised. Also, difficult returning, the company was not very co-operative.


I purchased a froth au lait s-14 about 8 months ago. After trying the Nespresso for 1 day ( that's all it took for me to realize it didn't fit the bill), I searched and found the Froth au Lait. I called the company and spoke with the wife of the owner at length. I explained what I was looking for and she said this would do it. And was she right! I have been using mine everyday, twice a day, since receiving it. It gets my milk hot and the froth is the best. Better than Starbucks. If you are looking for a frother that gets milk hot, gives you great tasting and smooth consistency froth, this the unit you want. It is the best!!


Follow the instructions. As you are told, the first three attempts aren't perfection. From there on out, you have volumes of froth (I, in contrast to others, love froth.)

We used the Froth Au Lait for warm, comforting, nightcaps at our winter party. For those who avoid alcohol, the hot chocolate is wonderful, (use the latte wand) It makes perfect Mexican hot chocolate as well, I melt the cinnamon-chocolate tablets in a small quantity milk, and add that concoction through the lid while the majority of the milk is frothing. I have yet to use the machine for cold drinks, no doubt they will be delicious and beautiful as well.

You will have no regrets if you add this machine to your kitchen.

I bought this Froth and Sauce after other froth failures. This one is well worth your money. We have a second home and I have to buy a second one. I miss mine toooo much when we are there. Last time my husband surprised me and brought my one from our first home with us. We had company that weekend and I can't tell you how many of my guests are now ordering one. This is the best!


I cannot say enough good things about this frother! I put in cold fat- free milk and pressed a button - that's it. The machine did the rest. I tried to pour the milk/froth out and only a few tablespoons came out - the rest was thick and frothy - and warm. It is just like what you would get at a gourmet coffee cafe. I am so excited about being able to make my own coffee drinks at home now in addition to the recipes for sauces and other creams. This is definitely worth the money and not some poorly-made gizmo. You won't be disappointed. If you did want your milk thinner you simply lift the frother off the base. You cannot submerge the frother but that's not a problem. I put my finger over the opening of the gear tube and rinse the inside out. You will love it!


I bought this so I could save some money by not going to starbucks all the time. I've only frothed milk but it works great. And at $5 a latte, it will pay for itself in no time. I gave it 4 stars because it is kind of a pain to clean. As the milk heats up, it leaves a film on the bottom.
PS. I have found the key to a good latte is to use whole milk. Skim, non-fat don't froth well.


I was given this as a gift and I thought "Oh no another useless gadget". Boy was I wrong! This product is fantastic. Warm frothy milk in the coffee in the morning...so much better...I am afraid I can't go back to just plain cold milk. It is easy to clean and easy to use. After use I just rinse it out real quick and set it on the dish strainer next to my sink. If you are a coffee with milk drinker this "gadget" is a must have item. It really makes your coffee taste far better.


This is by far the best frother I have seen. I would NOT, howver, recommend the one that froths only. I like the "froth 'n sauce" version because the paddles are interchangeable allowing you to make froth that is lightly frothed (oopen-hole paddles) or extremely frothed (small-holed paddles).

If I had been the manufacturer I would have added a time for a few dollars more since the unit makes froth too thich for me it I leave it on until it goes off automatically. You can, howver, lift the unit off the base at any time in the cycle. I would have also made the froth container clear instead of opaque and put 1 cup and 2 cup fill markings on it.

These 2 criticisms are minor in my opinion, as I think is it by far the best frother on the market today and is considerably less that competitive models that are not nearly as good.


I should have received the Froth n'Sauce within a week of ordering, I did not, not because of the company but because of Fedex. When I emailed the company via Amazon of my failure to receive the machine, the owner, and I did say owner, called me within 10 minutes of my sending the email.
She had already researched where my Froth n' Sauce was in transit and gave me all the information I needed. I was able to call Fedex (a whole other pain!) and pick up the machine.
When I returned home I opened the box, washed the pieces, and added milk to start frothing.
Wow, wow, wow! Everything I had read on the reviews were true! I used non-fat milk. The froth was foamy, almost meringue-like. The residual milk, hot and perfect for the latte. I am looking forward to experimenting with milk with a little more fat, using milk with more fat will likely produce foam that is creamier, and with flavors.
Having tried other methods of frothing, both hand and machine frothing, I find the Froth n' Sauce beyond the pale. Easy to use, easy to clean, superior frothing.
When I combine the quality of the product with the absolutely superior customer service, I would say "Choose Froth au Lait for the perfect latte". Drink up, and Sante!


I looked at this for a long time before I bought it. No regrets! I haven't tried sauce with it, but it's on the agenda. Now, I'm someone that is more in love with gobs of hot milk than froth. This does an AMAZING job on froth, but I wanted more hot milk and not a lot of froth. So, after some experimenting, I just use the sauce whips for my lattes and hot chocolates. Absolutely fabulous. I pour in milk, add protein powder, fibersure, cocoa and sweetener, mix it a little by twisting the sauce whips back and forth a few times, turn it on and walk away. Four minutes later, I have a high protein, high fiber hot chocolate that will knock your socks off. My new favorite winter breakfast! This is worth every penny. I'll update when I try hollandaise in this!


We have been using our Froth Au Lait every day for over a month.

This machine not only saved me about $450 over the price of a espresso machine, but saves me on buying cafe mistos from Starbucks every day. This little wonder produces AMAZING foam and enough hot milk for my wife and I to have great Cafe au laits every morning. If you must have espresso coffee, you need to buy an espresso machine, but you will get second class foam from the steam wand.

Like other reviews say, the machine needs to be cleaned up after every use, but it takes less than a minute.

Our Froth Au Lait has been given a permanent place on our kitchen counter.


This little appliance is awesome! For over a decade I've begun my mornings with a cup of cappuccino at home (unless I'm traveling). My Barista cappuccino machine (purchased from Starbucks in 1997) still makes perfect expresso, but the foaming part is cumbersome and unpredictable. For a number of years I made foam with a device that siphoned cold milk and spit it out as hot foam, but milk caked on the many little connectors, and sometimes I couldn't get it to work at all. Last November my husband got the Froth Au Lait, and it consistently makes thick, rich foam. Hooray! You will not be disappointed.


I was skeptical, very skeptical about the Froth 'N Sauce. Having purchased 2 frothers, from two different companies, and being disappointed by both, I ordered this one with tongue in cheek, yet hoping for the best. The later is exactly what I received! This is the best frothing machine ever. Even the froth at the local, high-priced coffee houses, doesn't measure up to the light, creamy, fluffiness I create in the privacy of my own home. If you are looking to buy a frother, I recommend this one without any reservations. While I have only had it for a month, it is being used at least 5 times a day, and each time it produces perfectly!
Easy to use and easy to clean: Just measure out the amount needed (which there's a chart included) - pour the cold milk into the pitcher, place the pitcher securely on the base, push the button and the blue light illuminates...the whips and blends, performing the frothing magic within 3 minutes. When it shuts off, simply remove the lid, spoon the froth onto your latte and enjoy! (There's also a slot in the lid for adding flavored sauces and syrups)Clean up is quick and easy. Remove the lid, remove the blades (which simply lift out of the center shaft), wash with hot soapy water *(but do not submerge the pitcher in water). The only thing some people may find a bit bothersome is washing around the center shaft that holds the whipping/frothing blades. However, for me, it's almost not worth mentioning - but I want to be thorough.

The Froth 'N Sauce comes with two sets of blades (whipping & frothing) and a delightfully delicious recipe booklet - filled with all kinds of treats we are excited to try. The platinum base and light grey pitcher look nice on the counter-top and will match any decor. From beautiful, thick and creamy chocolate mousse, to the best latte and lots of choices in between this little machine is a hit at my house. And should it conk out I will not hesitate to order a new one immediately.

This was given to me several years ago as a gift. I started using it again a few weeks ago. It froths milk fine. But as a few other reviews have alluded, it is fragile. But not only for the thin glass. I noticed this when I first got it, and have been extra careful.
My issue is with the plunger. Most parts are stainless steel... except a brittle plastic disk which holds the screen and a second stainless steel disc onto the handle shaft. The brittle plastic developed small cracks and finally broke last week, rendering the whole frother useless. I wrote the company asking for a replacement part, which I told them I was happy to purchase. But all they did was send me a canned response telling me to buy a new one if it was out of its 30 day warranty. More junk for the landfill. I cannot believe folks keep buying crap that breaks easily. At least try another brand, which I am going to do. It's not like these folks have a stranglehold on the Milk frother market.


I was looking for a way to froth milk without a fancy machine, and I found it with this product. This frother does exactly what it claims to do. I warm the milk in the microwave, push the pump about 20 times, and I have perfectly frothed milk for my capuccino (also made without a machine). Use extreme care when washing the glass carafe--it is extremely fragile and will break if it falls over.


I love my frother. I used to own an espresso machine with a steamer. Until I bought a moka pot and used this frother, I never knew what I was missing! It is easy to use and very easy to clean if you rinse it off right away (rather than let it sit and let the milk dry). You can pump a little to get a small froth, or a lot to make a stiff froth for the perfect macchiato. I use it with skim milk or soy milk. Just heat the milk in the microwave, pour it in the frother, pump, rinse off the plunger, and enjoy your drink.


This is an excellent frother, I am still discovering uses for it, the price is right and doesn't need batteries!


Ok I love the way this froths, you pump pump, and oh boy, my coffee was on fire, I lvoed it BUT
the design of this is what made me not like it.
My mama got another one similar with a smaller TOP- this one is big.. IT LOOKS PRETTY, but milk n jive would get stuck up high in it.
It made cleaning a lil harder and handling. I would have thought no big deal
BUT IT MADE IT TOP HEAVY, which led to, it in my sink, and knockin over, and BREAKING!
I still have the top heavy metal top, but hte glass is uselss and broken.!
i would rec one with a smaller top maybe even the black plastic, not this heavy chrome.

I was given one of these as a present - it broke the first cup. I called and was told to returned it and I did with a nice letter saying it didn't froth even one cup of coffee (about 1/2 maybe) and I was sure it was a factory defect, that I had once worked at a factory and these things sometimes happen. Deafening silence. I called AGAIN -- they would send me another one, never mind the one sent in the mail (I asked if I should return receipt, and was told not necessary so I thought -- well sometimes things happen and you get a bad run. After about six weeks, I called AGAIN and said I had not received it and it had been about six weeks. I was told by a woman with a very sweet voice, almost like a black widow-- not without the broken one we won't!

HUH!? Oh well - then friend called and said -- let's go camping at (a water fall we know).

So, with friend coming I bought another one to match hers. She didn't have one - Hers had broken, so we went camping with mine. It broke after I frothed her cup of coffee and one day old cream. The plastic kept falling off in the bottom of the scalding hot cup of coffee.

When we returned, I called and they said, OK send it in. I got a return receipt and I waited. and waited. Then I called and was told "We have no control over how you use it after it leaves our factory, you must not have followed directions." Then a few days later the return receipt was returned signed. Yep, they got the empty box I packed so carefully and spent so much time talking to them about.

Let me point out that this is product is so complicated that ANY Simian could have used one!!! I wanted to try to train a sloth, but my friend stopped me from calling the Sacramento or San Francisco zoos. I called the service number again, and was told, well, we must have gotten a package, but we don't know what was in it, do we? Me: Stunned stoned silence. Right -- I would spend the price to mail it in a priority box plus return receipt plus all the time on the phone just so I could get a free one! I know that spending over $30 to 'pull a fast one on them' is VERY Cost Effective and a VERY good use of my time (I taught college at the time so spending time in the twilight zone was something I really looked forward to, in fact, without my daily fix, I'd go crazy -- So I kept calling Krups so I would feel wanted and loved, my students always came second).

So I looked around and bought an Aerolatte for about $12-$15 or so. That was, ummm, Two? summers ago. Maybe a bit more. All I've done is recharge the batteries for use when I feel like frothing things. Oh! I DID buy a second set of batteries this last summer!

So steer clear of Krups, they make some things very well, exceptionally well as a matter of fact, this, however is not one of them, the plastic frothing cup on the bottom just doesn't work, and comes off, sometimes at the bottom of your steaming hot cup of coffee, --- EXACTLY what you want to deal with first thing in the morning before your eyes are open and your brain is awake! -- and 'camping' is no more stress on a frothier than any other cup of coffee -- I think they owe me 4 - 3 as replacements -- and a fourth for being so darned rude on the phone -- as if it breaking the first time at my breakfast table was MY fault because I THOUGHT of carrying it in a pack and using it on cold mornings! -- And to think -- I was only insulted for only less than 40 or 50 minutes several times to get no service at all.

I second the opinion that said -- forget it -- buy another one -- only do it before this one breaks and save yourself the humiliation of being called a liar, and the time and trouble of phoning and packing and mailing -- just buy an Aerolatte and be happy from the start -- and it's good for a lot more than just a cup of coffee too!

I am sure it IS a 'perfect froth' if you ever get one that works! STAY AWAY! Buy yourself a plug-in coffee grinder so you always have a spare -- and always keep that spare baggie inside a quart jar in your freezer and change it out on January 1 and July 1 every year to keep it fresh -- just in case your power goes out and you HAVE to have that cup of coffee (a cone and filter work perfectly well, and you can live without froth for a day or two), and remember -- storing the Krups coffee grinder could break it. Which makes it your fault. and thus non-returnable.

Once you learn how they think, you can make your decisions and your life a lot easier. I don't buy Krups anymore -- and guess what? They don't break on me any more either! errrrrraaah!


Well as my title says.... they're ok. If you lost or broke the one that came with the original machine then this one is a good replacement.


This is a great frother. It works very well. My lattes and cappas have been
perfect every time!


Works fine -- was a replacement for one that went down the garbage disposal. But the shipping charges almost equaled the price of the purchase.



It's a quality product from Krups which gives lots of froth! Sometimes too much. If you are not experienced capuchino maker this product is right for you.


Sturdy, durable frother. Must have for espresso machines. I upgraded my coffee mug makshift frother with this frother and feel it was the best purchase I have made for my morning espresso's.
