Lots of great froth with this product, not as much steamed milk, but that is the way that I like it. easy to clean even after leaving out, haven't had a smell issue, but I don't store anything with the lid on. I wish it were smaller and less of a plastic eyesore, but heh worth it.


This is the absolute best frother that exists on the market! I was first introduced to the Froth Au Lait by a friend, who was saying she had found the best way to make capuccinos. I was very skeptical, having tried and bought many appliances to make frothed milk, including the electric whip, hand pump frothers that then need to go into the microwave to heat the milk, etc. I really did not believe this friend knew what she was talking about.

One morning I went over to her house and asked her to show me this "amazing frother". I truly doubted I would be impressed. She quickly added the milk and pushed the button. I was absolutely amazed!!!! It was the best hot froth I had ever witnessed. I immediately went home and called Froth Au Lait to buy it.

I have had my Froth Au Lait for over 6 years, and am continually impressing friends when they come over for a cup of coffee. Friends get so excited to have frothed milk with their coffee. It is a terrific product.

I cannot recommend this product more highly. And I agree with a previous poster, the customer service is fabulous. They do not oversell. They ask you how you will be using the product and sell you the right model, even if that is the lowest end unit.

And, I haven't even mentioned the hot chocolate it makes. My kids love it! It truly meets the needs of the whole family!!!


About a year ago I bought a Nespresso Machine, of which I am exceptionally happy with. At the same time I purchased a milk frother from Capresso. My experience with espresso machines is pretty extensive, as I have a friend that used to design the large commercial types, and milk foam is one of the harder things to achieve. The Capresso frother worked marginally well for about 8 months, there simply isn't enough steam output to do it correctly, and the device itself really requires intensive cleaning of the ductwork to make it work consistently. Like most of you reading this review, finding a reasonably priced frother is not an easy task, but in my opinion the Au Lait machine is it. I was admittedly a bit skeptical as lower priced units seldom get the job done. This is a good product, its very simple, however make sure it is kept clean, in particular the bottom part of the pitcher (heater), and make sure the blades are free to spin. It takes about 2 minutes to generate thick hot froth. Works great with Skim or 1% serious amount of foam and also whole milk. Make sure when you first open it that the motor and blades spin freely, mine out of the box had some type of minor obstruction that went away after a simple twist of the shaft while on to make the blades start spinning. It has been perfect ever since.


I purchased the Froth au Lait last January after seeing it on the Today show. It makes thick froth that lasts. Before seeing this product on TV, I had tried the frothing sticks which didn't make great froth and would stop working after a few months of daily use (I love cappuccino), and had recently returned the Nespresso frother because it did not make good froth. I decided to try the Froth au Lait, but did not expect it to work since all the others had failed, but this machine is amazing. It quickly makes thick creamy froth in minutes. You do need to clean the carafe part after each use, but it does not take long and it is a small price to pay for perfect froth every time. My two cousins were teasing me for purchasing another kitchen gadget until I made them cappuccino and they were sold. I never have written a review, but I think this is a terrific product at a great price!


Well, this froths and heats milk very well, no question about that. You dump in some milk, put the lid on, hit the switch and voila, very frothy, beautiful steamed milk. But, then, get a whiff of the milk's smell, ew, it smells like hot plastic from the container, not tantalizing. I have been using the froth au lait now for over a month, and the smell is fading, but really, folks, who designed this? I think for the majority of people the smell would be a total no go (imagine serving a nice plastic cappuccino to guests).

Then, moving on to cleaning, this is SUCH a pain. You cannot put the blender in the dishwasher, so you are stuck having to scrub the bottom out EVERY SINGLE TIME to get the milk scum glued to the bottom. Again, a very poor design. It is also not a nice-looking appliance.

I hear that returns are also a big pain from this company, so I am going to use this for a year to get my money's worth or until it breaks, then buy something else.

I just want other people to know this before they buy it.


I used to work at Starbucks as a barista. Unfortunately since leaving the company I lost my free/discounted beverages. I wanted to create that perfect hot chocolate and chai lattes at home using some syrup and chocolate powder mix I bought at a local organic produce store. The product is extremly simple to use. It heats the milk very evenly and creates a generous amount of light, airy, frothy foam! It made an excellent chai latte and spicy hot chocolate. I am likely going to purchase a french press (like other customers who have reviewed this product) so I am able to recreate some of my favourite lattes from Starbucks -- at a way cheaper price! I would use this product everyday. Great for coffee lovers and makes a wonderful gift for those long winter days.


I love this product. You can whip up skim milk to a full froth in three minutes and create wonderful coffees and teas. It is a little difficult to clean but this is not the fault of the product - rather the nature of heated milk. I highly recommend if you would rather have your lattes at home instead of paying $4.00 each in Starbucks. Enjoy!


I bought this for my wife when we switched from espresso and cappucino maker to a french press. I was very skeptical but have been very pleasantly surprised by it's performance. I've had it for about 6 months now and the only issue with it is a bit of scalded milk crust that develops on the heating element right by the handle which has to be scrubbed or scraped off. It develops froth better than a steamer, almost too much foam and froth. I am usually pretty skeptical and don't write many reviews on products, but this product was good enough that I wanted to pass it along.


What I like least about this product is that it never arrived. I mean, really.


I bought this item because I have a great espresso machine and I read how happy everyone was with this wonderful frother. Well after 2-3 mos. it quit working. I called the manufacture and they told me to send it to them for repair. I paid for the postage and sent the machine. It came back and never worked again. I feel that I was completely ripped off and should have been sent a completely new unit. Instead I got no help from the manufacture.

When everyone on here says that they were taken care of...... it makes me wonder who is writing these reviews!!! I was never offered a new machine and they did not fix the machine that I bought. What kind of customer service is this? I am so upset that I spent money buying this, spent more money sending it to be fixed.....then having it sent back unusable.

I usually like the service of most items from Amazon. I am extremely disappointed with this item. It is also very difficult to clean. In fact the owner of the company told me to buy the more expensive model and it would not be so difficult to clean. Too bad that I didn't ever get my money back to buy another item.

Very, Very disappointed in the customer service.
